This study purposes on figuring out the present situation of social work practicum provided by the universities and fields, and examining major problems with it, and finally finding solutions to them. For the research purpose, survey questionnaires were distributed to schools(social work department), practicum agencies, and students in Busan regional area. The results of the survey and some implications for social work education can be summarized in each phase of practicum process as follows: First, in pre-practicum phase, it is necessary to help students complete some preliminary courses in prior to doing practicum in fields. In particular, courses in regard with program development/evaluation and basic preparation for practicum are found to be important to students in this phase. It is also found that school and agency need to negotiate and develop basic standardized objectives of practicum education in advance. In fact, it is almost impossible for schools and agencies to individually help all of students develop each own objectives of the practicum. Second, in practicum phase, participating in real process with clients is found to be more important and helpful for students in stead of having basic theory-based lecture or simple introduction of the agency as an organization. Utilizing some pedagogical methods such as participant observation, examining process recordings, and case presentation are found to be correlated to students\' satisfaction. Third, in post-practicum phase, activities and conversations between school and agency need to be continued even after practicum. Most of students in survey showed strong need of after-practicum seminar provided by schools. Significant numbers of supervisors answered to need supervision training offered by schools.
