This paper discussed what effects the realistic elements and fantastic elements implied in the story have on daughter-in-laws enjoying the story focusing on that Daughter-in-law Taming Mother-in-law Tale is a ‘realistic folktale’ containing both bare ‘reality’ and ‘unreality’ transcending the reality. Through a comparison with the actual stories of Sijipsari told by different speakers, it was confirmed the reality of daughter-in-laws' hard Sijipsari are reflected in Daughter -in -law Taming Mother -in -law Tale intactly. The realistic background and situation suggested in the stories make daughter-in-laws who suffer from Sijipsari assimilate with the narrative easily. And it allows them to realize the problem of unfair reality and recognize it as their own issue. In Daughter-in-law Taming Mother -in-law Tale, a daughter-in-law appears who is subjective and active correcting bad habits of hard mother-in-law from her decision to get married. In the story, the appearance catharsis. In the story, the appearance of the subjective character who overcomes crises herself actively grasping the lead of her own life stimulates daughter-in-laws potential desire who have fallen asleep in the unconscious. They contain the will to proceed to the good days together not losing hope in a hard life. Therefore, the stories like Daughter-in-law Taming Mother -in-law Tale that have a message of hope continue to communicate with the person who enjoy them and comfort them, forming hopeful and positive recognition, and become a nutritious element to grow internal power to overcome it wisely.
