"For a long time, research studies on the orally transmitted discourse have been centered mainly on tales. Although there has been a series of discussions on lifetime discourse, an extensive and systematic research study has left to be done for academic world. In this regard, this dissertation weighed literary and historic features and the significance of lifetime discourses, gathering the results of 2 years’ field surveys on the hard married life discourse.
As being experiential and real discourse, hard married life discourse has different identity than tails that have fictional and self-contained features.
When dealing with hard married life discourse, one needs to pay attention to the quality of experience and elements of truthful and vivid representation rather than narrative completion and the amusements of the story. When these elements meet with the literary expressivity and mingle with it, interesting and expressive discourse of high quality is produced.
There is a view that lifetime discourse centers on core experiences of oneself, and this view is confirmed by hard married life discourse. In a various cases, hard married life discourse develops as one or two strong experiences work as an axis of memory and representation. It is noted that in most hard married life discourses, core experiences are generally a kind of ‘heart aching experiences.’ The fact that they were left alone in an unfamiliar house and had to survive through a lifetime of persecution and sorrow, seared into their minds as unforgettable lifelong memories and played as an axis to arouse life painfully.

Reading these stories, we will find ourselves setting out on an imaginary journey to the wailful scene of the past, and will be moved and awakened by the literary features of the heart aching stories. They also have profound historical meaning in that they show vividly and realistically how women of the past lived their lives and let us ruminate on what the human beings and their lives are. These two elements, being in harmony in the hard married life discourse, provide them with proper requirements to be as live literature and history simultaneously.
