The study attempted to investigate the effect of 12 week's Isokinekic-exercise
which are not surgical procedures on school children scoliosis. The total of 43
school children student subjects, with scoliosis and over 10° Cobb's angle.
Subjects were test-ed twice tmes; before and after the isokinetic exercise
program. the isokinetic exercise program was consisted of 3time per week, 50
minutes in each session and lasted 12 weeks. Isokinetic exercise employed Cybex
HUMAC NORM. in order to verify the difference of measurement of isokinetics
according to the exercise program, t-test was performed the after and before of
significance for all the statistic analysis was set for a= .05. According to results,
the following conclusions were obtained. After the 12 week's isokinetic exercise,
the cobb's angle and the change of was significance decreased(p<.001). The
maximum muscular strength and maximum muscular strength per body weight of
the lumbar strength shows greater measurements after and maximum extensor,
flexor muscular strength and %BW maximum extensor, flexor muscular strength
showed noticeable difference(p<.001)(p<.001)(p<.001)(p<.001). On the results above,
it was found that the 12 week's isokinetic exercise including the stretching,
muscle strength exercise has shown effect on cobb's angle and lumbar strength
and it has helped the scoliosis school children student to improve flexibility,
muscle strength.
