The story telling program is making up and chatting a story with picture
cards. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the story
telling program on elementary school students' creativity. The subject of the
experiment consisted of 20 students from 5th grade of D elementary student
school located in a G city. The experimental group was 10 students who
wanted to participate in this story telling program. The control group was 10
students who wanted to measure just their creativity index. This study
based on the program Yoon Han Sun's(2006) 'The Classes using Tarrot as a
Club Activity', designed for elementary school students and verified four
experts. The experimental group were trained with this program per 50
minutes all 7-sessions. The control group were not taken any measure.
Research tool was Torrence Tests of Creative Thinking: verbal. Data
processing was made via SPSS program. Repeated Measure Analysis of
Variance was used to verify the improvement of student's creativity. The
result of this study indicated that there were significant difference between
the control and experimental group. The story telling program based on the
picture card was effective for improving elementary students' creativity,
fluency, originality, flexibility.
